In accordance with its mandate, the Council of Experts reviews the calculation of the previous year's emission data and the emission projection data up to 2030. In doing so, it determines whether the total annual emissions for the years 2021 to 2030 inclusive will be exceeded or not. This review and evaluation of the emissions data and the projection data is carried out in accordance with Section 12(1) of the Federal Climate Protection Act.
