Dr. Ulrich Kreidenweis has been a Scientific Associate at the office of the Council of Experts on Climate Change (ERK) since December 2025. He studied Geoecology and Global Change Ecology at the University of Bayreuth. As a doctoral candidate at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), he contributed to the development of a global land-use model, investigated greenhouse gas mitigation potentials of reforestation and interactions with food production, and earned his doctorate at the Technical University of Berlin. Previously, he worked as a researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB), where he focused on modelling processes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture and bioeconomy.
