Sophie Bentele has been a Scientific Associate for the Council of Experts on Climate Change (ERK) since January 2026, as well as a Research Associate at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI. Her research focuses on the ex-post and ex-ante evaluation of climate protection and energy efficiency measures. Previously, she worked in project management in the areas of bioeconomy and innovation for an economic development agency and in the sustainable building sector of a real estate consulting firm. She’s completed her master’s degree in Innovation, Business and Sustainability at the University of Hamburg und her bachelor’s degree in International Management at the University of Applied Sciences in Karlsruhe. During her studies, she worked as an intern and research assistant at the Fraunhofer ISI from 2020 to 2021.
