Dr. Bianca Bieß has been a Scientific Associate at the German Council of Experts on Climate Change (ERK) since June 2026 and is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), where she is affiliated with the Chair of Physical Geography and Land Use Systems. She holds a Master's degree in Environmental Geography from the University of Tübingen and a doctoral degree in Climate Science from ETH Zurich. Her research has focused on the socio-economic impacts of climate extremes attributable to anthropogenic climate change. During her time at ETH Zurich, she also contributed to IPCC-related activities, serving as an expert reviewer for IPCC assessment reports.
